Water performance ratings explained

Water performances are rated on a scale from 1 to 5 compared to other water performances in it's class, with 5 obviously being the best. All ratings are based on our personal judgment and our 27 years of parade experience, other reviewers may have different opinions.

All performances are viewed by us before they are presented. We do not list "junk". Even a low rated water performance is usually worth your time by our standards, otherwise we would not include it in our selection.

	Very Good
	Good - met our expectations but did not exceed them
	Fairly basic water performance. Could use obvious improvements, but works as presented.
	Extremely basic water performance. Could use major improvements, but works as presented.

What are our criteria when we rate water performances?

The following criteria are used when reviewing a water performance:

• Features and Performance (compared to similar performances in it's class)
• User Interface appreciation
• Ease of Use
• Uniqueness and Innovation
• Water distance
• Volume of water
• Efficiency of water
• Equipment expense
• Personal opinion

Are spectators rated differently from parade participants?

Good question. No, we don't overlook the fact that there are more active spectators than parade participants. We weigh crowd reaction and interaction. However, we are only rating parade participants. Parade participants are the ones that must face the onslaught of thousands of spectators, they must be conservative on initial water usage and save for the larger water battles with resident hoses and the grand arena in front of the General Store.

Why bother viewing a 2 or 3 star performances, if there are others with 4 or 5 stars?

First of all, not every water performance is designed to become a 5 star performance in the first place. The 3 star rating is our standard rating for good, quality water performance . If you are looking for the most feature rich and complete performance, the 5 stars ratings are a good orientation. However not everybody is looking for the same features and functionality... our 3 star rating may very well become your personal 5 star product since it is "just what you needed."

What about a water performance that doesn't have any stars?

Many performances have not been assigned a rating. It is in our opinion that all performances are winners but several are exemplary and thus earned stars. The lack of a rating star(s) should not reflect poorly upon the performers. They should all be commended for participating and facing resident hoses and spectators' squirts. We applaud their bravery and courage .
